Cosi Fan Tutte

Brew City Opera Presents Mozart’s comic Masterpiece “Cosi fan tutte”.

Hailed as a crown jewel of Mozart’s prolific output, this opera takes us on a journey of confused identities, playful deceit, unsavory wagers, and unexpected trysts.

The cast for Brew City Opera’s production is comprised completely of locally based artists whose talents astound and rival any nationally acclaimed performer.

The principal cast features Tabetha Steege (Fiordiligi), Brennan Martinez (Dorabella), Anja Pustaver(Despina), Tomas Dominguez (Ferrando), Ryan White (Guglielmo), and Dan Kerkman as the architect of all the fun, Don Alfonso. This cast is supported by Kaisa Herrman, Meggie Moyer, and Adlai Kim as the cover cast for Dorabella, Fiordiligi, and Guglielmo.

This new production will be performed in Italian with English subtitles and accompanied by Janna Ernst (musical coach) on harpsichord and piano who is joined by a string quartet. The production is headed by Music Director Tim Rebers, and Stage Director Edson Melendez with lighting by Encore Theatrical Lighting.

“Cosi fan tutte” will be performed at one of Milwaukee’s premier theatrical spaces, Next Act Theatre (255 S Water St, Milwaukee, WI 53204).

Join us for an evening of laughter and beautiful music!

*CANCELED* World Premiere: WHO ARE WE? Operatic Explorations of Identity

Please join us for an evening of WORLD PREMIERE “mini-operas!”

UWM Opera Theatre will present a spring production of seven world premiere “mini-operas” in our beautiful Jan Serr Studio (Kenilworth Square). Our opera theatre class made a list of contemporary topics they feel require increased attention on the opera stage, and our composers have created original libretti and newly commissioned operas for the students to produce and premiere, which feature topics from the students’ list. Previous compositions by our professional opera composers – Ruben Piirainen, Tim Rebers, and Nathan Wesselowski – have premiered at Florentine Opera, Skylight Music Theatre, and Milwaukee Opera Theatre, and UWM voice and composition major Xai Osa will make her opera composition debut. Don’t miss this groundbreaking exploration of topics of our time which celebrates this collaboration of emerging and expert musical talent.

Colleen Brooks, producer & stage director
Anne Van Deusen, music director
